Book 1 of the Tales of Enda

Sargon the Not So Great

Better a live loatron than a dragon’s dinner.

His legs were running again! Sargon tries to stop them, but they have a mind of their own. Whenever any danger crosses his path, his legs take off in the opposite direction, and there’s nothing the loatron can do to stop them. Stupid curse. Although he wants to be the hero his town needs, his hooves don’t share his desire.

And it doesn’t help that he’s the laughingstock of his town. Even his impetuous sister, Adorabelle, with a sideways glare, can scare his hooves to run like the cowardly goat everyone thinks he is. But Sargon discovers a way to kill the dragon when the evil dragon, Fyriun, threatens to destroy his beloved town, his family, and his friends. Fyriun had already killed his father. So, in a reckless moment, he makes an oath. He will destroy the dragon!

The reluctant loatron tries to find a way out of the oath, but when his best friend, the novice monk Dunstan, is captured by the dragon, Sargon sets out with Adorabelle and two other loatrons to make good on his promise. Will angry mermaids, a hippogriff, and a young, wily dragon incite his hooves to run away in fear?

Welcome to the Island of Enda, where humans and mythicals live peacefully side-by-side—well, sometimes not so peacefully. Magical creatures and a magical island can create trouble for people and mythicals.
In Book One, Sargon, a young loatron, must overcome his self-protective running magic to save his town from a vengeful dragon.
Book Two continues the adventure when Sargon's little sister, Adorabelle, fights a power-mad mermaid to save the seas of Enda.
