World Building Facts About Enda
Enda is an island off the coast of Eire (Ireland). Legend has it that the fairy built the island from an underwater forge/volcano to create a park land retreat. The fickle fairy abandoned the park leaving mythical, magical creatures behind and their distant relatives the fey (part fairy, part human) to rule the island. Eventually humans migrated to Enda to farm and trade alongside the mythicals.
The Enda series, Tales of Enda, are about the mythical creatures and humans living on a magical island during the early middle ages (900’s AD). The first two novels feature Sargon, the running loatron, and his overly aggressive sister Adorabelle.
Now, other characters are demanding their own books. The third book is about a young, greedy dragon searching for redemption. A hornless loatron and her pasheen friends create chaos in the fourth novel. And in book five, a fey girl and her loatron sidekick struggle to solve the mystery of a murderous beast roaming the north.
Tales of Enda are fantasy novels written for middle-grade children, ages 8-12. And, of course, for anyone else looking to escape to a magical fantasy world and have a good laugh.
A loatron is a mythical creature about the size of a pony with the body of a goat, muzzle and scales of a reptile, and a long prehensile tail. Loatrons come in a rainbow of colors. They are magical creatures with special abilities that enable them to protect themselves.
