Adorabelle The Not So Great Book Cover

Welcome Adorabelle!

Book number two in the TALES OF ENDA is almost here! ADORABELLE THE NOT SO ADORABLE is coming out next month. I’m just tweaking the back cover blurb. And when I say tweaking I mean writing, re-writing, deleting, writing, re-writing again and again. I’ve got two weeks to pull it all together. Here’s what I have so far.

Adorabelle the loatron never imagined that joining a Viking raid would lead to her scrubbing dishes in a bakery. However, after a fight over an oyster pie leads mermaids to attack her friend, Adorabelle finds herself in the midst of a battle she didn’t even start. The magic brooch everyone is fighting over holds the key to controlling Enda’s sea. Destroying the brooch is Adorabelle’s chance to prove herself as a warrior, a dream she’s been longing for. But when a botched mermaid curse throws the quest into chaos, Adorabelle must decide if she can risk it all for a chance to make her dreams come true.

Does it catch your attention? I’m experimenting with a new process which focuses on the main character’s emotions instead of the plot. I read about it in FICTION BLURBS THE BEST PAGE FORWARD WAY-The Step-by-Step Guide to Win over Readers, Sell More Books, and Market Like a Pro by Phoebe J. Ravencraft and Bryan Cohen.

I enjoyed Ravencraft and Cohen’s book and learned a lot about blurbs and marketing. Mostly I learned that it’s really hard. Marketing is difficult for me, but in today’s writing world most authors have to help in their marketing.

After I settle on a blurb I will send it and the manuscript off to my publisher. Then I’ll sit and wait. NOT! That would drive me insane. No, I’m editing book three. I’m also writing the rough draft of book six. Keeping busy keeps me from fretting over the release of Adorabelle.

Did you notice the style change in Adorabelle’s cover and book one SARGON THE NOT SO GREAT? I have a new artist and we are going in a more middle-grade direction. Thank you Tom McGrath for your fabulous work.

That’s where I’m at in my writing journey. Getting ready to publish another fantasy novel. If Adorabelle seems familiar to you readers it’s because you were introduced to her in book one SARGON THE NOT SO GREAT. Adorabelle is Sargon’s little sister. She was so funny in book one that she earned herself a hero’s journey in book two.

If you want to know more about Adorabelle read the short story Fair Trial. Since I’m so into mermaids right now comment below and let me know your favorite mermaid stories.
